5th OKINAWA INTERNATIONAL MOVIE FESTIVAL

With the support provided by all of you, we are able to host the 5th year of this festival. I would like to show my sincere appreciation to you all.

Our dream is to establish a platform that the entertainments from all over the world gather here in Okinawa. As the first step toward this dream, we have created a number of different events with local residents including the JIMOT CM COMPETITION and the production of the films which send the messages from the local communities this year. The network of the supporters has been certainly expanded including“Okinawa International Movie Festival Ginowan Cheering Squad” consisting of the City of Ginowan residents,“Okinawa International Movie Festival Cooperative Association” consisting of several organizations in the prefecture such as Association for the Future of the Tourism in Okinawa, JCI Okinawa Block Council, Naha Chamber of Commerce & Industry Young Entrepreneurs Group and the organizations in each municipalities as well as volunteers.We’ve accomplished the programs and projects in conjunction with these people in this year’s movie festival.

We also newly developed the“Creators Factory”Division to discover the human resources who will be responsible for the next generation. We ask for the submission of the video productions without regard to the category, genre or running time, and we’ll shed light on the unknown new talents.

We’ll continue our further efforts so all of you come to this movie festival, and the new entertainments will come into the world through the platform of the Okinawa International Movie Festival.

It is my genuine hope that a lot more people from all over the country and the world come and visit the 5th Okinawa International Movie Festival.
