Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for attending the Okinawa International Movie Festival.

The event sees its 5th anniversary this year. This is arguably due to the fruits of support and cooperation of people of Okinawa, people from the media, and many other associated people. I would like to express my gratitude on this occasion.

At this year’s festival, we have organized a new project called “Creator’s Factory”, in addition to conventional programs. With this new program, we will discover new creators of the coming generation amongst various staff involved with the production of movies, including directors, cameramen, actors, and musicians, and provide them with opportunities to present their talents. It would make us happy if this movie festival could encourage these people with promising talents to blossom, to flourish worldwide, and, then, to come back with featured works in the future.

Furthermore, people of Okinawa are more deeply involved with this year’s event than usual.

Together with people of Okinawa, we aim to hold a livelier festival than ever, and offer world-class entertainment from here.
