The “SoftBank Promotion Stage” introduced SoftBank’s talent at the Laugh and Peace Town inside of Okinawa Convention Center.
To start, the Ohyama sisters emceed introducing Dante Carver who stars as the popular “elder brother” in SoftBank commercials. He greeted the crowd in fluent Japanese. “This is my first time to visit the Okinawa International Movie Festival. I’d like to participate every year!” The audience was surprised and gleeful by the unannounced appearance of the well-known African-American star.
The comedians from the group Cow Cow then came on stage. Kenji Tada said “I don't like cold weather, so I really like warm Okinawa. Also the food is great. I love Okinawa!” Yoshi Yamada added, “I have moved my certificate of residence to Okinawa. I will live in Okinawa from today!” and theamused audience didn’t know whether to take him seriously or not.
Carver performed a popular skit with the comedians from Cow Cow called “Atarimae (proper) gymnastics” as he loves the Japanese comedians’ humor. A SoftBank commercial featuring Cow Cow was then screened.
Yuichiro Nagai, Kazuyuki Sakuma and Kunihiro Kawashima of the comedic group Wild Bomb appeared to the stage and took part in a hilarious contest in an attempt to appear in a SoftBank commercial.
The audience enjoyed their gags but Dante named the Cow Cow group the winner because the comedy by the other performers was not related to SoftBank.
People left the venue entertained by the surprise appearances, live skits, and Softbank commercials screened.
