Storyline

Yuki Miyashita, a lonely high school girl who can't fit in to her class, talked to by one of her classmates Kyoko Shinohara in front of the tank of jellyfish in the aquarium. The kiss they exchanged there in a hesitant way gradually caused them to become attracted to each other. But after a while, Kyoko got a boyfriend...

Following "Me, Caught in My Own Trap", this is the second film of the "R-18 Literary Award by the Women for the Women" winners film adaptation series, sponsored by Shinchosha Co., Ltd.. Adapted from a novel with the same title written by Sarie Hinakura when she was 16 years old, director Shusuke Kaneko transparently portrays the adolescent girls who are amorous, yet poisonous with a painful sting just like jellyfish, and their days which are fragile and cruel with warm love and jealousy. It also co-stars Miho Otani and Rumi Hanai; for both of them this is their first film to take starring roles.

Plot

No matter what genre of films he works on, director Shusuke Kaneko focuses on the girls in the film and shows their young and charming sensitivities while filming. This film can be called the summarization of his work, a fantastic world of sweet and dangerous adolescence. The co-leading actresses' enthusiastical performances excellently lived up to the expectations of Kaneko - including the endlessly repeated kisses, they beautifully projected the fresh and fragile presence as they tackled the scenes filled with young eroticism and fetishism.

By citing from the masterpiece "The Children's Hour" by William Wyler, he casually portrays the prejudice against homosexuality. This is the way of showing the rebelliousness which is one of the distinctive characteristics of Kaneko's productions.
