5th OKINAWA INTERNATIONAL MOVIE FESTIVAL

In 1418, the king's third son, Prince Chungnyeong who was spending everyday reading, his favorite activity, had been named to be a successor of the king all of a sudden. Because he was not even dreaming about becoming a king, Chungnyenong couldn't live with the great responsibility.

One day, he runs into a poor young man, Deok-Chil, who looked identical to himself. Placing Deok-Chil as his scapegoat, Chungnyeong ran away from the Royal Palace. While Deok-Chil was spending the graceful court life as a prince, Chungnyeong couldn't even enjoy his freedom and encountered a number of hardships.

However, through the meeting with many people including a girl who had been unreasonably separated from her family and an eccentric inventor, he started to get inspired by them. By learning from the people in his country suffering under oppression yet living vibrantly, Chungnyeong started to desire to be a great king for the citizens for the first time. Meanwhile in the Royal Palace, an evil officer had noticed the origin of Deok-Chil...

Joo Ji-hoon, who got his breakthrough in acting with a role as a prince in "Love in Palace", is back from his 3-year military service and has returned to film. In this film, he plays Sejong the Great, who is considered as one of the best kings in the history of Korea, and performs a double role of the king and a poor young man for the first time. A wimpy prince who was not confident enough to be a successor of the king ran away from the Royal Palace, met his people, learned the life of his people, and acquired what he needed to become a great king. This is a heart warming story to portray his transformation with sincerity and a full of humor.
